MALE OR FEMALE?
I have so many requests for females vs. males that I felt I needed to share this information with you (the males really don't get a fair shake).
The pet buyer's desire for a female probably stems from previous experiences with other breeds. Shih Tzu have always been bred to be companions to humans.  Unlike many larger breeds, Shih Tzu do NOT have sex-linked temperament differences.  Dogs (males) are every bit as affectionate as bitches (females)..some say more so and an aggressive Shih Tzu of either sex is unusual and undesirable.  In fact, one is more likely to witness occasional squabbles over food, toys and ranking in the pecking order between females than between males, particularly among females in season.  Note that it is best to have your pet Shih Tzu spayed or neutered as soon as recommended by your veterinarian to help curtail and eliminate undesirable sex-related behavior and reproductive health anomalies.  Males are easier to keep in coat because they don't go through periodic, hormone-related coat loss, making the male the ideal choice for someone planning to keep a pet in coat or have only one show dog.  Also, dogs (males) are perhaps easier to housebreak.  Overall, if you just want a loving, playful, faithful companion, you can't go wrong with a Shih Tzu, male or female!!

(What Your New Puppy Kit Contains)

1. Shot Records (Up to date on all immunizations and worming)
2.  Dew claws removed.
3.  AKC Registration Paperwork.  If pup is sold with limited registration AKC paperwork will be held until I receive verification from your vet stating that the pup has been spayed or neutered.  We prefer that our pups go to pet homes as companions.  Full registration is given on an individual basis to approved homes only!!  These little babies deserve to be LOVED first and bred last!!  I do not want any of my pups ending up in a large kennel setting.  They deserve so much more!!
4.  Sample of puppy food they have been eating.  (Enough for a couple of days)
5.  If the pup is being shipped they will arrive to you in and airline approved crate.  A blanket or Fleece bed will be inside the crate with the baby.
6.  They will come with a toy that they have been playing with because this toy will have the scent of their mama and litter mates on this and may help ease the pups transition to their new forever home!!
7.  Vet check or health certificate stating that the pup has been seen and is happy, healthy and ready for their new forever family!!
7. A sample of Nu - Vet that I have been giving the pup since they began to learn to eat.  This to me is a very important supplement that all pups and dogs deserve.  There will be a pamphlet containing information for you on the benefits of giving this to your new baby and the info you need to order it for them.
8.  Life long Support from us.  We will help answer any questions you may have and if we don't know the answer we will help you find it.  We LOVE staying in touch with our adoptive puppy families and LOVE to see pictures so that we can watch them grow along with you!!
